Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust
Description
Here at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) we are dedicated to providing high quality care with compassion. We deliver many of the NHS services that are provided outside of hospital and in the community such as physical, mental health and specialist services.
We are a health and social care organisation, providing:
- Integrated physical and mental health services for adults and older people;
- Specialist mental health and learning disability services;
- Children and young people’s mental health services;
- Children’s community services in Peterborough;
- Social care;
- and ground-breaking research.
We support around 100,000 people each year and employ more than 3,400 staff. Our largest bases are at the Cavell Centre, Peterborough, and Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridge, but our staff are based in over 90 locations.
We are a University of Cambridge Teaching Trust and member of Cambridge University Health Partners, working together with the University of Cambridge Clinical School.
Public involvement in research
Cambridge & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust supports researchers to involve service users and carers in their research projects, and supports service users and carers in getting involved. This is mainly through the Service User & Carer Group. You can find more information at the website below. Please do get in touch if you would like to know more!
There are many ways that people can get involved, for example:
They can talk to researchers about their research ideas
-
They can advise researchers about how they can make their research more user-friendly
-
They can help to develop information leaflets for people taking part in research
-
They can help researchers to carry out research, for example interviewing service users
-
They can become a member of a research advisory group, giving a service user’s or carer’s perspective
-
They can provide comments on a research proposal
-
They can help to share the results of a research with other service users and the public
Every project is different. Involvement can be a one-off consultation or it can be an ongoing collaboration.
